There's No Shortage of Noise - But There's Also No Shortage of Opportunity

If there’s one thing we can all agree on right now, it’s that there is no shortage of noise.

Geopolitical uncertainty. Interest rates. Inflation. Artificial intelligence. The stock market. Elections and government policy. Consumers are being hit with more information, from more directions, at a faster pace than perhaps ever before.

For those of us in the financial services business, however, sometimes it pays to tune out the noise for a minute and simply look at what’s sitting right in front of us.

Because when you look at the fixed and fixed indexed annuity marketplace right now, there are some tremendous opportunities.

As I write this, we have access to 10-year fixed indexed annuities offering premium bonuses north of 20%. We have 7-year products offering premium bonuses over 12%. We have S&P 500 annual point-to-point strategies with caps as high as 10.25% — and those caps are guaranteed for the entire surrender-charge period.

Meanwhile, MYGA rates continue to hold strong and, in some cases, are actually moving higher. Based on the rate changes we’re anticipating next week, we expect to see multi-year guaranteed annuity rates north of 6.00%.

Think about that for a minute.

With everything consumers are hearing every day, we have the ability to sit down with them and discuss guarantees, principal protection, competitive accumulation potential and predictable interest rates. Depending on the client’s objectives and the product being considered, those can be powerful conversations.

And that’s really the point.

We don’t have to predict what happens next in Washington. We don’t have to predict the next geopolitical event. We don’t have to know exactly where the stock market or interest rates will be six months from now.

Our job is to help clients understand the options available to them today and determine whether those options make sense for their individual situation.
