August Heat

While August has only just begun, television commercials, retail stores, and social media ads may have you feeling like summer is over. Call me an optimist, but in my mind there's plenty of summer left to go. Or at least, that's what my Indiana brain is telling me (it knows what winter can bring!).

So why am I talking about the weather?

No, I'm not under any illusion that summer will be here forever, and I'm okay with that. In fact, throughout the last few years, I've learned to appreciate the beauty in every season. For me, summer has always been my favorite. Here in Indiana, the deciduous trees stand tall,  with bushy green leaves acting as nature's umbrella. The daffodils that brought hope during the cold in March, have long since given way to gardens overflowing with color. Now, in early August, the midwest landscape is fully grown and vibrant.

The changing seasons are also a good reminder that successful agents don't wait for the "perfect" season. They plant seeds all year long.

In our business, those seeds come in the form of lead campaigns, educational workshops, annual client reviews, and simply staying in touch with the clients who have placed their trust in us. Those consistent efforts are what create future harvests.

And speaking of hot...

While that summer sun is still sizzling, rates are just as hot.

We're seeing premium bonuses north of 20%. We've got carriers with guaranteed 10.25% S&P 500 annual point to point cap locks for the entire surrender charge period. Income rider roll-ups and payout factors are about as attractive as I've ever seen them as well!

In all seriousness, this is one of the most unique environments I've seen in our industry. The current rate environment continues to blow my mind, and none of us knows how long these opportunities will last. So, while it's still hot outside, let's make sure we're taking advantage of the hot rates inside the office.
